We watched and listened, mesmorised by the rythms created out of simple everyday things, lighters, newspapers and broomsticks, dustbin lids, oil cans, shopping trolleys, sand and more. We clapped along, and were thoroughly entertained throughout the show.
Afterwards we beat out our own rhythms with wooden spoons before going to the party.
With Matylda and Orlando astride their new steeds, (a brace of lightweight Isla bikes) we explored the local city farm where a blacksmith was teaching some locals how to scroll a piece of iron on an anvil. Its a fully functioning farm situated next to Surrey Quays in the heart of the city. Cows and pigs are raised and sold for meat, crops are grown and geese are kept for eggs.
